Professional Experience

 

  • Founding partner of CLG Abogados (Consulting, Litigation, Government), where he directs the Firm's practice areas. He has more than 22 years of experience in the practice areas of Administrative Law (in its various aspects), Financial Law, Tax Law, Foreign Trade and Customs Law.

  • He has actively represented national and transnational companies in various matters (related to his areas of expertise). Likewise, he has been a consultant to various industrial sectors, which he has actively helped to find creative solutions to the legal conflicts they face on a daily basis before all types of administrative and jurisdictional authorities.

 

  • He is currently an Independent Director of 3 different companies in the logistics sector. He is also legal advisor to different Legal and Foreign Trade Departments of various sectors (alcoholic beverages, food, metal-mechanic industry, hygiene, household, non-alcoholic sweetened beverages, hydrocarbon companies, bonded warehouses, bonded warehouses, among others).

 

  • In this way, through his participation and advice in different companies, he has contributed to generate business opportunities, optimize resources and investments, and to create suitable legal tools to prevent future contingencies.

  • On the other hand, he is a member of the legal advisory board of the Confederation of Customs Brokers Associations of the Mexican Republic (Caaarem), an organization that represents more than 90% of the Customs Brokers of the country, actively proposing improvements in the customs clearance processes and in the related regulations, which translates into the streamlining of exports and imports that nourish Mexico's foreign trade.

 

  • From 1999 to 2004, he worked in the Federal Government, where he held the following positions:

    • ​Legal Advisor and Deputy Coordinator of Advisors at the then Presidency of SAT.

    • Legal Advisor to the General Administrator of Tax Coordination and Evaluation of SAT.

    • In charge of the Customs Administration of the International Airport of Mexico City, as well as Deputy Administrator of Customs Operation and Control of Procedures and Legal Matters of the General Customs Administration of SAT.

    • Foreign Trade Audit Administrator of the General Administration of Federal Tax Audit of SAT.

 

  • His professional experience as a public servant provides him with the knowledge of the way in which the administrative authorities act, which allows him to have a panoramic and integral vision on how to solve the conflicts that are presented to his clients and consultants.

Academic Training

 

  • He has two Master's Degrees from the Universidad Panamericana; the first in Administrative Law and the second in Economic Law, as well as several postgraduate studies among which we can mention the specialties in: Tax Law at the Universidad Iberoamericana, Financial Law, Commercial Law, and International Trade Law at the Universidad Panamericana. He is also a specialist in Tax and Administrative Justice at the Federal Court of Administrative Justice.

Teaching activities

 

  • In parallel to his professional activity, he has developed a career of more than 25 years in legal teaching.

  • La Salle University CDMX campus. As of 2008 and until April 2022, as a teacher at the undergraduate level (Customs Law, Administrative Law II, Foreign Trade Legal Regime), as well as at the Master's level (Foreign Trade Legislation).

  • Tomás Alva Edison School. From 1999 to 2017, as a teacher in 3rd year of high school of the subject Law.

  • National Autonomous University of Mexico. Since 2004, as a teacher in Foreign Trade diploma courses.

  • Member of "El Ilustre y Nacional Colegio de Abogados de México".

  • Distinguished member of the Mexican Institute of Foreign Trade Executives.
